If we are honest, then we recognize the sins of leaders, the sins of our own brethren, and of course our own sin. It is certainly a sad state of affairs when a group that has exalted sexual sin by ordaining those who openly practice such, has opted to criticize the Catholic leadership. As you mentioned, it has been a horrific scandal, and I am sure there has been many failures to handle the known sin in proper fashion, but I am also sure that the Catholics are not going to legitimize pedophilia, or homosexuality as acceptable preactices anytime soon. St. Francis famously said “Preach the Gospel; if necessary use words”.

Truth alone can deliver and the truth cannot be defined by some relative idea or concepts, but must be embraced as it is; truth! The truth is God is not only able, but it is the Gospel itself "Good News" that a man can be "born again," created anew. I don't want to be what I used to be and the Gospel says I do not have to be.
